How to Become a Legacy Donor
There are many ways to become a legacy donor, including:
Bequests
Make a gift from your will or trust. This can include gifts of property, such as stock or real estate.
Retirement Accounts
Name “The Community Cupboard Food Bank" as a beneficiary.
Life Insurance and Annuities
Name “The Community Cupboard Food Bank” as the beneficiary. A charitable gift annuity pays you income for life with the remaining value going to The Community Cupboard.
Charitable Trusts
Choose from a variety of strategies available for legacy planning.
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)
In addition to these legacy strategies, there is a lifetime strategy available to people over the age of 70 1/2. You can request a direct donation (QCD) from your IRA to The Community Cupboard, and that amount is not included in your reportable income.
Additionally, if you are over 73 1/2 and need to take required minimum distributions (RMDs), you can direct part of your RMD to be directly sent to TCCFB, and that QCD is also not included in your income. There are several tax rules for this strategy, so please consult your adviser.
To learn more about legacy giving – including the many tax advantages – consult your attorney, financial advisor, or tax accountant. They can offer guidance on which giving options are best for you.
Make a Lasting Impact on People’s Lives
You can have a positive and lasting impact on others when you make a legacy gift. Your gift helps ensure that we can continue feeding neighbors in our communities for many years to come.
A Lifeline for Those Who Suffer Food Insecurity
Since 1973, The Community Cupboard has assisted our neighbors with food insecurity. The need has grown, and so have we. We have partnered with the Prescott Valley Food Bank and launched our mobile food bank, serving the food deserts of Yavapai County. All this, because you have continued to support our mission. On behalf of our grateful clients and countless volunteers, THANK YOU!
Your gift helps us continue this important work in the future.
"I give rides to this food bank. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I was surprised with the selection of food that was given out. Just a wonderful community organization." — Canda, Community Member
You Can Change Lives
Helping combat food insecurity improves and saves lives by nurturing health, fostering education, and building more resilient communities. When individuals have reliable access to food, they are less likely to suffer from chronic illnesses like diabetes and heart disease, reducing health care costs and strengthening public health. For children, proper nutrition is the foundation for a successful future.
Thank you for considering a legacy gift!
