The mission of The Community Cupboard Food Bank, Inc. (TCCFB) is to serve individuals and families who are experiencing food insecurity in the surrounding areas.
The TCCFB recognizes the innate worth of every human being and accepts people as they are and seeks to assist them in receiving necessary food to support their daily nutritional needs. Our support is designed to provide supplemental food to residents in Yavapai County experiencing food insecurity.
Seven local churches founded the Prescott Community Cupboard in 1973 as a temporary food source for the Prescott area. It was designated as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in 1981. Six of the original founding churches continue to support Community Cupboard after more than 45 years.

In simple terms, food insecurity means that people don't have consistent access to enough healthy food to live a healthy life.
The Community Cupboard Food Bank helps by improving access to essential food resources for individuals and families who are disproportionately affected including children, communities of color, households with low incomes, immigrant communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, and single-parent households.
Since 1973, the Prescott Community Cupboard has been providing groceries to empower households to create their own “healthy, active lifestyle.” One visit to the Cupboard provides enough shelf-stable food to create 12 nutritionally-balanced meals per household member. It can be used to exclusively feed a household for four days, or it can supplement their other food, adding the fruit, vegetables, and protein that would otherwise be difficult for a food-insecure household to have in every meal.
